Yoga is not a religion or cult it is really a technique for living handed down from antiquity. Anyone can practise yoga because it is non-competitive, age is not a barrier either as you learn to listen to your own body, its wellbeing and capabilities without having to compare with anyone else.
Its never too early or too late to start to practise. All you need is a little space and the desire for a healthier and more fulfilled life.
This class is suitable for everyone, and everyone is welcome.
Anne Accolla, is a trained Sivananda Yoga teacher with more than 30 years experience of Yoga practice and self-development. The classes in the Village Hall started up in 2004, so it been going for 10 years with some folks still regularly attending.
The class normally lasts about 90 minutes, starting with a gentle warm up, during which you will be shown relaxation and breathing techniques followed by an introduction to and development of the Yoga postures (Asanas). The breathing exercises and postures are explained in detail and individual help is given at all times.

Please bring something to lie on, such as a Yoga mat, thick blanket or sleeping bag and a cushion. Loose clothing, warm socks and a warm top are advisable as body temperatures drop during relaxation.
Fridays in Steeple Ashton Village Hall from 10.30-12.00. Class costs £6.00.
This is not a course, just come whenever you can make it.
